25_03_06 - The Beginning Of Spring!

Hi!

Welcome to the new site!

Its been a long time since i posted in here so its about time I bought U all up to speed. I'm back in Brisbane and I'm frantically trying to finish the new Nam Shub Of Enki album - "DSTRY EVRYTHNG". It has lots of stuff I have been playing out for a while, and many of the tracks I played while on tour last year. There are a heap of collaborations/remixes including trax done with David Thrussell, Berzerker, Nottkea Rotta, Nation Blue, Goto 80 and more! Its sounding pretty good, can't wait till its all done tho. It will be released on Creative Space records in Greece.
I have also been working hard on the MZO album, which will take a while longer than expected due to the songs still being in skeleton form that really need to be fleshed out. I have also just finished a song that is going onto the new Snog album! The track is called "Rising Up". I am also presently working on a remix for a new Snog EP.

I have been playing a fair few gigs, the most memorable being with Richard Devine at the Empire, it was a cracker of a night and as expected Rich annihilated everything! Great stuff - thanks to Frosty, Mick and everyone who played! Another great gig was Mind Over Matter where Black Lung, Andy Till and myself got to pound the spirital shit outta hippys on a 40k rig in the great outdoors! There was almost a moshpit when I played and then a sea of deluded and disgrunteld trance heads all whinging in the shadows! haaha sucked in. Myself and Miss P Leisure have also been doing a DJ residency at Rics upbar on the first friday of every month. Its truely strange being a jukebox to a bunch of plattling cattle that dont give a shit about wot they're listening to, it takes alot to fight the urge to play merzbow or something evil.
So the album should be all sorted within the month - I hope; and I am preparing for another MZO and solo tour! So lock up your grannies as we head back to Japan and Europe in September!! By then both the new namshub & MZO albums will be completed and available.

If your interested in getting The Nam Shub Of Enki, kiki.ILL or MONSTER ZOKU ONSOMB! to play your town - get in touch!

luv to all

Athens

Been in Athens since sunday. Had an utterly shattering time getting here. Got totally spaztimacated at the Elevate Festival in Graz, played with the MZO then had to get home, pack, catch a bus to vienna, then a plane to Athens. I can't remember much - But I made it!
THe Elevate festival was fun, DMX Krew ripped it apart on the first night, and the second night was like a break-core netwerking convention. The last MZO show of the tour turned out to be a rocker (I think?) and i have vague memories of Donna Forrest trying to dry hump my arse - not the most pleasurable experience. So if you're reading this Jason, keep yr dick to yourself:). It was an honor to finally meet Armin from Death$ucker. Awesum bloke. Did'nt really meet more people due to getting trousered on free booze. Highlights I remember were Evol intent, and bits of Exile. Big shout outs to Stephie and wendy for looking after us proper! Cheers.

Before Graz.
We had a holiday of sorts for 4 days in the very beautifull Czech Repub. Prague was wicked, very nice place - tho most of my time was spent recovering from a Hangover. After Prague we headed to Chesky Kromuv - best beer in the world, in this amazing medieval village. We even went rafting, oh and drinking our favourite eggenburg dunkel beer.

Before Czech.
Before prague, we played at the Welte Buhne in Hamburg. Easily our worst gig of the tour. Sound problems, weird crowd and strange vibe pervaded the whole gig. Was meant to be a "bondage" night, tho there was a strange retentive feel there. Maybe it was becoz we had only 3 hours sleep but there seemed there was no energy. MZO seemed allmost like a bit too much for the punters. was weird. After the show - we ended up in the downstairs room listening to the worst DJs i have ever heard, not only was their track slection dubious, but they had the needle skipping, and were ripping tracks off the dex mid spin. I won't even mention mixing, nonetheless they were absolutely hilarious. I think their bad DJing mixed with tastey taste getting whipped (and an attemped buggery with candle), and tastey and sharkie's Ibiza dancing on the bar, saved my night! At the end of the gig we were left homeless, as the promoter had'nt really bothered to sort us accomodation, so we were totally trollied in the middle of Hamburg with no where to go...nice one. Thanks to the ppl who helped us find some where to stay, and the nice ppl we met.

Before Hamburg.
The night before Hamburg MZO played at the Golden Gate in Berlin. It was a night put on by our good mates Team Plastique. Was a killah gig, totally mental crowd and great tunes. Easily one of the highlights of the tour. Can't remember much as it was one of those nights. Beer Fruhstuck and 3 hours before our train to Hamburg. Berlin is easily one of the funnest places in Europe. Thanks so much to the team and all our mates that were there, and all the new ppl we met. U all kick arse.... Ok i have writers fatigue and will add more later.

Nam Shub Of Enki plays with Panacea in Athens on the 24th.

I hope I can make It.

Grreece

Grreece rox!
Havin' a pretty awesum time here in Greece. Great food nice ppl and loads of laughs. Last week i went to an out door full moon - dare i say it - trance party...was a pretty cool night despite the inane monotonous bass lines and mobile phone melodies. The highlight - well the low light - was when the police fired a fucking cannister of tear gas onto the dance floor. I couldnt believe it, i was happily drinkin my beer and taking the piss out of the DJ when suddenly 1000+ ppl started running at me with their shirts over their faces. Suddenly my eyes stung and felt like they were bleeding and i couldnt breathe. It totally sucked.. I sprinted off with the masses to find air. The police were having a war with the anarchists over a fascist - skinhead rally that happened in the city earlier that day. The war had spread to the University which was absolutely miles from the rally. I have been told the Greek cops don't give a fuck and rule the country with fear. Despite the tear gassing the party went on till about midday. Of course i was tucked well into bed by then.

The gig on saturday night was a killah! Wicked big crowd and great tunes all night. Panacea utterly destroyed the carpark and ripped out a set of rave drenced drum'n'bass and clown step carny rockers! My set had a few sound problems in the beginning but I finally kinda got things werking. I will not forget U nutters going mental in tequila! I will also not forget the whistling guy in the morning, I thought he might be the most annoying person on earth, but he turned out to be a nice bloke with wonderfull south american produce! The DJ who played first was also great, playing hip-hop with great skills on the scratch and juggling! And of course i can't forget to mention Kostas and the Funxion crew - great blokes and awesome tunes, they had a great flow to their set and really got the party started! I also gotta mention Panacea's fucking silver teeth, He walks up to me to ask how long i've got and has this maniacal cromed smile (All his top teeth were crome silver).. I think the blingin teeth with the palestian scarf look is definitely one of most the paradoxical things I've seen lately.

I've gotta give massive props to Nikos - the man behind the party and Creative Space Records (who released my last album) for getting me to greece and looking after me sooo well.. You are a fucking legend mate. Also a great big hi and thank you to everyone I met - Dimitri, Spyros, Sotoriadis, Michael & Katarina, Kostas, Holga, Tula, and everyone else i forgot or met at the party. THanks heaps...!!!

Next stop is in Berlin on the 28th, then its one sleep before I RETURN TO RUSSIA!! Yep thats right i return to Russia on the 29th and play the Sickfest on the 8th of October in Moscau and the 17th in St Petersburg. Can't wait to see all of you again!!

ok I guess that is enuff for now - I will return with a report from Moscow!

Back in Russia!!
So amazing and beautiful!
the first party at 16 tonnes was heaps of fun despite the no show of the Japanese crew. I had a ball, was great seeing all of you again and of course meeting new ppls. It is a great club, and loved the decor and sound. Special Fanx to the sound guy for makin life easy! Was a fun show!
Sick festival was errrrm SICK. Sick boy and Legs Le Brock totally rocked great sets and I also loved the chill zone! Gas masks everywhere was totally surreal. My set was fun too! Massive thanks to Pete and the spectrum crew for the tunes. The whole place reaked of excitement and mentalists.
So again we played 16tonnes, this time with Sick Boy and Legs, their sets were stoopid mental and i think the small dedicated crowd loved it. My set was possibly the best I played this time in Russia. It was a long night of frivolity, that went well into the mornin with vodka and laffs.

Big thanks to Alex, serjae, sassha, Pete and Katarina, Sicky, Mindy, Oleg, Vlad, Ilona, pete and everyone i forgot to mention.

More later when i find some more pieces of my mind.
